The Last Great Time War Chapter 4The Doctor limped back to his TARDIS, blood staining his green coat and long brown hair. He was blasted forward by an explosion, injuring him even more. He opened the door to his police box home, regretting all of his actions. He tripped over a fallen wine glass filled with jelly babies and managed to pull down the lever on the TARDIS, and it flew into space. Behind the flying police box, his home planet exploded in a flash of light. The Doctor watched the whole thing on his screen. He had killed family, friends and ultimately, knowledge of other dimensions. He looked down at his hand and saw regeneration energy slowly starting to burn. He deserved it. It was punishment for allhe had done. Eventually, the energy turned into what looked like flames bursting from his body. His TARDIS took much damage, and the control panel flew apart into pieces. Rose stood on the beach, letting the wind whip her hair, as she stared out into the ocean. There was no sign of the Doctor or the TARDIS, but she felt that they were in the right place. I got to ask-it's been on my mind...Has any one figured out how Eight became nine? Is it in one of Doctor Who number eight's stories? I don't think he dies in his movie (still haven't seen the full thing....) I just want to know because they are my favorite doctors...and it would be an interesting story to read how eight dies becomes nine goes on an adventure before meeting Rose.

Aside from the film, there has been released a mountain of Eighth Doctor adventures in audio format, but there's no official regeneration. Everyone has their own theory - the story is even better when you have to imagine a good part of it.
